Canned Replies for Lotus Notes
By Frank
So every once in a while, some free software comes along that makes life a lot easier. For me, it is “Canned Replies”, which saves me a lot of time with regular, routine email replies.

Every day, I find myself typing out the same kinds of emails – license docs, renewal reminders, installation instructions, download requests, etc. It can get rather tedious (and time consuming) to be writing out the same basic format of email.
So for the past few years, I’ve been keeping email responses as drafts or as stationary and copy-pasting them into emails whenever I needed them. But I haven’t liked that method very much as it involves too much folder opening, doc opening and copy-pasting. So I was looking for something quicker and easier, something where I could just pull up a standard email reply that I could click, customize and send – REALLY FAST!
Here is a one-minute video that shows Canned Replies (one of our own products) in action for a help desk or sales person:
Canned Replies is an app which allows you to create standard email replies which you view in your Lotus Notes sidebar to use at any time by simply clicking the one you want. It is now available on Everything Email as an ad supported giveaway.

Hi,
Canned reply does not work with my Notesclient 8.5.3 FP3. I followed your installation guide and I can now see the widget in the widget window, but there seems to be nothing happening, no reaction to doubleclick, single click or right click. How do I get new entries aka reusable text blocks into Canned reply?
Kind regards from Germany,
Konstantin
I don’t see this product listed on your website. Is there a licensing cost to this software after the trial? If so, how much? I notice there is a banner ad at the top and would that go away with a paid version?
I notice that my antivirus stopped lotus from loading in a reasonable amount of time after installing canned reply. Where are the files it creates so I can have that antivirus ignor them?
@Dave, beside the AntiVirus, sometimes policy documents are set to “Never install” plug-ins signed by an unrecognized entity.
@Konstantin, I will take a look to see about the problem. Sometimes a Notes restart fixes this, otherwise I will look to do a screen sharing session.
